Golden moment for student Rosie
AN Abbey College Manchester student from Stockport was presented with an award for development and talent.
Rosie Weeks, aged 19, of Lyme Road, received the Gold Standard Award during her graduation ceremony, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester.
Now studying A-levels in biology, chemistry and mathematics, Rosie was given the award in recognition of her development and talent during the academic year
She has received offers to study medicinal and biological chemistry at the Universities of Edinburgh and Sheffield.
She said: “I am delighted to have received this award in recognition of my hard work and development.
“The college has been so supportive and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here.”
The event was held to celebrate the successes of the students who will be graduating this summer and to recognise some of their individual outstanding achievements.
The ceremony also featured performances from Abbey College Manchester students, including pianists, guitarists and vocalists.
