Tables are laid for food and drink awards

ALL the ingredients are in place for the first ever Stockport Food and Drink Awards.

The event will take place at Robinsons Brewery, on Apsley Street in the town centre, today, June 20, from 5pm to 8pm.

A shortlist of three has been drawn up for each of the 10 categories and winners will be announced on the evening.

Categories include best restaurant, in which the finalists are Where the Light Gets In, Allotment and Angkor Soul.

Best drinking establishment will be contested by Heaton Hops, the Bakers Vaults and the Arden Arms.

Other categories include best supplier, best ethical food project, best producer, best street food, best casual eats and best social media presence.

The awards have been organised by chartered accountants Clarke Nicklin and Foodsync.
