Moorfield flying flag for Hatters
STOCKPORT County Community Foundation was delighted to have teamed up with Guardian Education for this year’s Stockport County Primary Schools Community Cup 2018.
This year’s winners, Moorfield Primary School from Hazel Grove, won the Guardian Education Primary Schools Cup and represented Stockport County in the National League Community Cup North West heats and were given a brand new football kit from sponsors Guardian Education, who specialise in supplying exceptional teachers, teaching assistants and support staff to Primary Schools throughout the borough.
Following this success Moorfield Primary School played against this year’s runners up Greenside Primary School in a friendly football match during the half time interval on the final home game of the season versus Darlington FC at Edgeley Park.
Assistant Community Foundation Manager Matthew Bailey said: “A big thank you to Guardian Education for supporting this year’s Primary Schools Cup Competition where 40 Primary schools competed to become the Stockport County Guardian Education Community Cup Champions 2018. The winning school Moorfield Primary then went on to represented Stockport County.”
Andrew Williams, Director for Guardian Education responded by saying: “We are delighted to be able to have this opportunity to partner with Stockport County Community Foundation and to sponsor the Stockport County Community Cup is a fantastic way for us to do that. We’re delighted to help the area’s young children in this way and we’re looking forward to seeing the enjoyment they get from playing in the competition.
“Both Rick and I are from Stockport and have children in the local education system. We take ourresponsibility to community seriously and seek ways to extend our support where we can.”
