Homes group named as Housing Heroes
STOCKPORT Homes Group has won two national awards at the annual Housing Heroes Awards 2018.
The housing provider took the titles of Frontline Team of the Year and Tenant Innovator of the Year at a ceremony at the Manchester Central on June 25.
These awards promote and celebrate affordable housing providers, projects and services in the north that are helping to create great communities where people love to live.
Stockport Homes won the Frontline Team of the Year award for the work delivered by the Housing Options Team, whose members work to prevent homelessness in Stockport.
Sarah Hardy won the Tenant Innovator of the Year award for her work with Offerton Community Café, where she has developed a popular menu, recruited and trained 25 volunteers and also won a national TPAS award.
Robin Burman, chair of Stockport Homes’ board, said: “Winning these two awards is a great achievement, everyone involved should be really proud of themselves.
“We would also like to congratulate Sarah for her amazing work with Offerton Community Café, you deserve this for all the hard work you have done.
“I’m also delighted that the housing options team have gained much deserved recognition for their very important work in helping homeless people in Stockport.”
