Ashley wins health and safety recognition
AHOUSING firm’s project manager has been recognised in the 2018 NHBC Health and Safety Awards.
Ashley Terron was commended and earned an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality prize.
The 26-year-old project manager at Lancaster Green, Woodford Garden Village in Woodford, is a former bricklaying apprentice who has already been awarded a British Empire Medal for ‘services to skills’.
The new health and safety commendation recognised his commitment to safe and considered construction.
Ashley highlighted his team’s role in winning the award, saying: “Being commended by the NHBC is a real achievement for all of the team.
“It demonstrates that collectively we always aim for the highest standards of health and safety.
“Keeping our staff, contractors and visitors safe on our building sites is, and will continue to be, a top priority for Redrow.”
The Pride in the Job award-winners, including Ashley, will now go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner titles.
Ashley added: “It’s fantastic to receive these accolades, which highlight all the hard work the team puts in at Lancaster Green to ensure that we keep delivering high quality homes.”
Shaun Sumner, construction director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Ashley is a shining example of the talent and energy trainees can bring to a business.
“As a bricklaying apprentice he won numerous awards and represented Redrow on many prestigious occasions, including a special reception at 10 Downing Street.
“He’s gone on to become a site manager, then project manager, demonstrating Redrow’s commitment to valuing people and promoting from within.”
