Couple win £20,000 home makeover on social media

-

A COUPLE who have been through ‘hell and back’ have received a boost thanks to former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas and entrepreneur Adam Kamani.

Adam, CEO of the Kamani Property Group, ran a social media competition to give away a £20,000 home makeover.

The son of Boohoo fashion billionaire Mahmud Kamani wanted to know why this makeover would change their lives.

Carly Ablott, 29, from Cheadle, applied on behalf of her parents Ronnie and Pamela, both 58, whose medical needs forced them to move from their home of 20 years into a bungalow.

They were chosen as the winners by Kamani, co-founder of retailer PrettyLittleThing, who arrived at their home in Heald Green to surprise them with his actor pal.

Last February, Ronnie had an operation on his spine to remove a tumour which left him paralysed from the chest down and took away most of his independence.

Carly said this was ‘life changing’ for Ronnie. Pamela had to leave work as a store supervisor after suffering from a stroke in 2000.

“I just want to say thank you so, so much for choosing my parents, this will be the nicest act of kindness anyone has ever done for them,” said Carly.

The prize included a bathroom remodel by Bathroom Supastore, a sofa from Cheshire Interiors and a year’s supply of free energy from Eversmart.
