Stars are in town to meet their fans
STAR players from Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks are set to be in Stockport over the October half-term to meet young fans and help teach them new skills as part of a rugby development camp.
The two-day long programme will take place between October 25 - 26 at Stockport RUFC and has been designed for both boys and girls aged between six and 12.
RFU qualified coaches from Sale Sharks’ awardwinning community team will be on-hand to give youngsters advice on core skills such as running, evasion, handling, kicking and tackling, as well as decision making in both attack and defence.
Players from the Sale Sharks squad – which includes the likes of England internationals Chris Ashton, Denny Solomona and Tom Curry – will attend sessions across the region to pass on their top tips, giving children the chance to get up close with some of the biggest stars in Premiership Rugby.
Darren Lamon, Rugby Development Manager, said: “These camps give us the chance to get out into local rugby clubs around the North West with some of our top players to meet young fans and help them develop their rugby skills.
“Players of all abilities are welcome to join us and we’ve even seen youngsters progress through our camps and go on to play for the Sale Sharks first team.
“The sessions are designed to be fun and they are always really popular, so we hope to see as many young players as possible for what promises to be a fantastic couple of days of rugby.”
