FROM early November to the end of March 2019, Stockport will be taking part in Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham’s initiative ‘A Bed Every Night’.

This part of The Greater Manchester Homeless Action Network Strategy to end rough sleeping.

In theory, every single person who is sleeping rough in Greater Manchester will be offered accommodation out of the cold. is hosting its sixth Rucksack Project.

We are appealing now for members of the public and local organisations to start collecting donations of rucksacks, warm winter clothing, basic toiletries and a sleeping bags.

The Wellspring then makes packs up and distributes them to anyone sleeping rough on our streets this winter or on the floors of any of the cold weather provisions that will be opened over the winter months.

Last year The Wellspring gave out over 2,000 Rucksack Project packs to either people on the streets or to other organisations that engage with people who are sleeping rough on the streets.

Please support The Wellspring and The Rucksack Project and put a pack together that will make a massive difference to someone this Winter.
