A MIDWEEK Stableford at AVRO was won by Michael McDonagh with 38 points, one more than Peter Walker and Bob Holt.

Frank Mills was out on his own in a Sunday Stableford at AVRO with 38 points from Jack Leech 34 and Peter Hale, Vic Tarr and Don Millington, all 33.

Cheadle ladies played the second round of the Keeling Cup and Emma Pike led in with a neat 69 from Susan Shaw 71 and Jayne Warren 72.

The Robert Brown medal for Cheadle’s men needed a cpo on 61 to see Phil Carter into top spot from Tim Holtam with Duncan Clarkson two shots off their hot pace.

The Hodgkinson Foundation Gold Medal at Disley was won with an aggregate score of -13 from club legend Phil Leadbetter, five more than Tony Collinson.

Another Disley aggregate for the John Bullock Trophy was won by Tony Collinson on -9 from Paul Holtam and Phil Leadbetter, both -7.

Disley Lady Captain Irene Fell was in control of a singles Stableford posting 35 points to finish ahead of Lindsay Pulley 29 and Gaynor Calvert 27.

Medal action for Gatley’s men had division one led in by Scott Keelan with 66 from Matthew Milnes 69 and Richard Rood 72.

In division two Neil Paton was the main man with 73 from Michael Coffey 74 and Graham Stubbs 79.

A singles Stableford for Gatley ladies was won by Younghee Cheung with 28 points, four more than Pamela McKean.

The second round of the Pro’s competitio­n at Heaton Moor saw David Howes win a cpo on level par from Alan Mottershea­d and Andrew Gowen.

It was also tight in the final aggregate with Andrew Gowen winning a cpo on -2 from Dave Rodden and judo legendMart­in McSorley.
