Deceased is named after car collision
A MAN who died following a horror smash has been named as James Lowick.
The 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Bramhall Lane South, in Bramhall, on October 31.
He had been behind the wheel of a black Zenos E10 convertible when it collided with a grey Volkswagen Touareg.
It is understood Mr Lowick was the director of Stockport-based car garage Audi Doctor, which was closed following the tragedy.
A message on the company’s website said: “Audi Doctor has temporarily closed due to a family bereavement.
“We will endeavour to respond to enquiries as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.”
An inquest into Mr Lowick’s death is due to be opened at Manchester South Coroners’ Court later this week.
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 9.30am.
GMP say the Zenos collided with the Volkswagen after passing a black Audi A5 that was turning right into Carwood Road.
A 41-year-old woman who was driving the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing, and police are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision - or who has dashcam footage from around the time of the crash - to come forward ‘as a matter of urgency.’
Anyone with any information is asked to call GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 763 of October 31.
