Star Will’s grief at father’s death
ACTOR Will Mellor has shared the devastating news that his father Bill has died.
The 44-year-old TV star, from Bredbury, said it’s ‘just the hardest time’ in a heartbreaking video shared on Twitter.
Will, who played Jambo Bolton in Hollyoaks and Gaz Wilkinson in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, shared the emotional video on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “I’ve been going over and over in my head, whether I should even do this video. It seems right. My dad passed away three days ago. There’s a lot of people out there, I haven’t got their number so I can’t let them know.
“They’ve probably met my dad, I’ve been everywhere with him, we went everywhere together. That’s how close we was.”
Will, who has also starred in the dramas No Offence, Broadchurch and Line Of Duty, added: “It’s just the hardest time.
“It’s horrendous. What do you do when you lose your hero?’ I also know there are a lot of people who are going through this out there.
“I just want you to know I feel your pain.
“We’ve just got to try and stick together and get through it. Try and remember the good times. If you think about my dad, remember the good times. That’s what I’m going to do, and we’ll get through this. That’s it.”
Alongside the video Will wrote: “Worst week of my life.”
The actor added in another tweet: “Btw it wasn’t #Covid_19.”
Messages of support came flooding in from friends and well-wishers.
EastEnders’ Shane Richie said: “Hey Will, thinking of you pal.”
Line of Duty star Vicky McClure told him: “So so sorry to hear this Will.
“Sending you and your family love and strength xxx”
The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack wrote: “Oh my god Will. Sending all the love in the world to you. I’m so so sorry.”
