County are remaining positive in the face of pandemic

- COUNTY SUPPORTERS COOPERATIVE COLUMN IAN BROWN

DESPITE Covid 19, we are beginning to see stirrings….movements that indicate that , at some point hopefully not too distant, we will be looking to return to something a kin to normality.

We are constantly advised that this ` normality` will be a `new normality fashioned by the rampant pandemic.

Football clubs, will be looking for a return that will, as closely as possible, mirror that which served them so well previously, but it may be a forlorn hope!

Already the cracks begin to appear in the comfortable view of what is ahead- the recent announcement that Wigan Athletic, of the Championship, have appointed a Receiver being possibly the thin end of a worryingly substantial wedge.

At County, we appear to be better placed than most to respond to the demands placed on us by the prevailing circumstances. Indeed much of the news, emanating from Edgeley Park is distinctly positive, from the excellent recent output from the club’s media department who have sustained County fans throughout the lockdown, to the heartening news that James Gannon’s players are now using Man City’s former training ground at Carrington- a really good move that augurs well for our future, and is a massive boost for James as he puts his squad together and motivates them towards another successful season!

The Supporters Cooperative have confirmed, more than once, our determination to contribute to that success, and we look forward to re-engaging with the club board at an early juncture to discuss the club’s plans, which will inevitably have been affected by the pandemic.

We will be looking to represent, and report back to, County supporters as soon as possible after any meeting.
