Fruitful meeting with club board
IT was really pleasing to’ get down to business` again as representatives of the Stockport County board and the board of the Supporters Cooperative met in strict Covid 19 aware conditions.
These are some of the points discussed in a very useful session:Discussion focussed on Season Tickets firstly , and the Club representatives expressed the hope that they would be able to make a start in the next few weeks, but progress was dependant upon having clarity as to what ground capacity County were able to operate with.
It was confirmed however that any system adopted would prioritise Season Ticket Holders, but some form of ballot in addition might have to be considered for the remaining seats, and seating would likely be in seats other than the usually designated season ticket seat.
To improve ground capacity the Club is exploring the feasibility of re-opening the Railway End with new seating.
In addition it was confirmed that work on the Cheadle End had been hit by the effect of the pandemic on Contractors, but work is scheduled to start in the next few weeks on the re-cladding of the Cheadle End together with a full refurb of the hospitality area, club shop, dug outs, home dressing room, and the concourse- a massively impressive undertaking on the Club’s part!
Asked about the new training facility at Carrington, the Club confirmed that we had use now of a’state of the art` facility way above National League standard.
The long- term objective, for the Club, was to eventually establish a similar quality community friendly facility within the Borough, but this was dependant on the availability of suitable land.
The Clubs close links with the Council will prove invaluable with this going forward.
