WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

●We asked which bars and restaurants have got safety and social distancing spot on (Facebook, August 17):

Paul Rylance: The Mounting Stone, Bramhall. Safe, table ordering, social distancing and helpful staff. Tables can be booked online as well. Great workable systems.

Charlotte Holtam:

Ladybrook in Bramhall, all servers have visors, tables are fully distanced, tape on the floor guiding around the inside to ensure social distancing and the best part for me is the toilet system which allows you to let other people know if it’s occupied by moving a chart with your elbow x

Madelijn McLaughlin:

Went to the new Pizza Express at Redrock in Stockport today. Hand gel at the entrance, tables well spaced out, good social distancing measures in place. Food and drinks were put on a seperate table at the end of ours to pass on ourselves. Encouraged to look at menu online and pay contactless. Friendly staff! X

Julie White: Rainbow 88. We felt so safe, tables nicely spaced along one side of the restaurant, and they spray hand gel on when you walk in. We had a lovely meal and will definitely return.

Kate Derry: The Mounting Stone, Bramhall - Andrew and his team have implemented social distancing seamlessly and have the safety and well-being of their customers firmly at the top of their agenda whilst still providing the friendly and relaxed atmosphere we all know and love!

Julia Poyner: Romulus in Bramhall are doing a great job...screens between tables and staff in correct ppe.

Jayne Heywood: Beretto Lounge at Redrock is brilliant. First time I’d been properly out anywhere since places opened up and they were very safe.

Gemma Marie Lanigan:

George and Dragon Hazel Grove were amazing! All done through the app... All correct ppe and tables socially distanced .... Couldn’t fault it at all x

Margaret Dean: Bombay Mombai, Fir Road, Bramhall - fantastic food and really friendly staff.

Becky J Field: Rainbow 88 in Cheadle Hulme and Linda Lam has also done amazing things over lockdown!

Sharon Lynch: Definitely Rainbow 88, Cheadle Hulme. Every table and chair sanitised. All customers asked to sanitise as they enter. Staff continuously sanitise their hands. Delivery drivers sanitise the delivery bags and hands before and after every delivery. All notes for till sanitised. Very much on it! X

Peter Eavers: Can I highly recommend The Chiverton Tap, Mellor Road, Cheadle Hulme. This family-run micropub has invested heavily in screens, an ordering app, appropriately distanced seating, online booking and table service.

Renee Harrison: The Carousel, South Reddish. Felt very safe in there and staff were brilliant.

Nicola Cook: Dal Barista halfway up the market steps in Stockport. They have been the best so far. Indigo Romiley was also good. I could name quite a few that are shocking and the service has been a joke too.

Lauren Russell: The Victorian in Bramhall village was great, went with a friend for a drink in the beer garden and one way systems and table service that’s all very safe and staff in ppe, all very nice and safe x

Kirsty Marie: Hatton Miller and Carter! Was nervous before I went but they made sure that social distance rules were adhered to and we were kept well informed. X

Rory Gallagher: The Midway on Newbridge Lane have got it absolutely nailed on! Been a few times since and it is spot on.

Chris Airey: Absolutely superb service, with safety & hygene done well inside & outside at both The Mounting Stone in Bramhall & The Chiverton Tap in Cheadle Hulme. Also, Archive Bar & Bottle in C/Hulme have done a great job! Well laid out!

Jan Bullen: Strawberry Gardens. Felt really safe when I went in with my daughter last week. Temperature checks, contact details etc. Food was good too! X

Fred Devereux: The White Hart (Cheadle) has gone above and beyond for ensuring the safety of customers and staff alike

Kerry Waters: All the pubs in the market place have been great. Petersgate Tap and Enigma too.

Suzann Harrison: The Bamford have it perfect. Staff are brilliant too.

Helen Stanley: Three Tunnes Hazel Grove feels very safe there and the staff ensure rules are adhered to x

Andrea M-k: The Mounting Stone in Bramhall has it spot on instigating the ‘new normal’ and the beers, team & atmosphere aren’t half bad either!

Josephine Lockwood:

The Three Tunnes in Hazel Grove from the very beginning has had everything in place,

which makes you feel comfortable and safe whilst there x

Julia Poyner: The Ladybrook Hotel in Bramhall are doing an amazing job! All staff in correct ppe and pub has been redesigned inside and out to provide proper social distancing.

Adam Cockburn:

The Mounting Stone in Bramhall has got it spot on!! Really well organised and the app ordering is great.

Yvonne Craughwell:

Houlsworth Arms, Reddish and the Union, Reddish. Adele and Graham doing a great job x

Karen Spilling:

The Ashlea in Cheadle. Spotless and plenty of space! Felt very safe.

Samantha Silvester:

George & Dragon Hazel Grove, all staff wearing ppe, all tables social distanced and they won’t allow naughty bookings of more than 6 like some places. It feels safe but still feels like a pub.

Lynda Houston:

Devonshire Arms, Mellor are fabulous x

Hanni Jane Mckeown:

O’hares in Hazel Grove spot on. Felt really safe in there, tables 2 metres apart mask on and hand sanitiser everywhere and table service x

●Several council-owned leisure centres to remain closed for now (p4):

Will Bullock: Makes you wonder why, when all the other gyms in the area seem to be opening up fine, and Life Leisure is able to open the other two sites that it runs. Council dragging its heels for some reason?

Sharon Bartlett: They’re gonna lose members for sure by dragging their feet whilst all others gyms are up and running again.

Gill Ward: Absolute joke, that along with the reduced bin collection, reduced bin collection at parks (when being used more) oh & what do we get...an increased bill!

Jay Potter: Put a bar in the gym. Then it can reopen safely.

Simon Waller: So why do have to pay full CT when half the services aren’t running?

Louise Hodkinson: Not surprised, I’ve said from the word go that I can’t see the council owned gyms opening till after Christmas.

●Greater Manchester Covid restrictions extended (August 15):

Robert Purchase: If it has to be done then so be it. Just wish everyone was doing the right thing but unfortunately they are not

Neil Davy: These rules cant be enforced so how will it help, we’re in this for the long haul.

Jullie Gee: It really upsets me to know we are not all working towards the same goal

Jay Potter: Cheers

Oldham.
