Driver’s road rage attack ordeal

A DRIVER launched a road rage attack on another motorist – smashing a window and stealing the victim’s credit card and car keys.

Police said there was a ‘dispute’ between the two motorists on Bramhall Lane in Davenport.

The driver of a black BMW smashed the window of a red Toyota Yaris, before then stealing the victim’s credit card and car keys, at about 6pm.

The victim was hospitalis­ed but has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made, and police are appealing for informatio­n.

Officers have released a descriptio­n of the driver of the BMW.

He is said to be a white man in his 30s, with long blond hair.

The man, described as being six foot with a ‘large build’, was said to be wearing dark clothing with a hood.

He left the area in the BMW in the direction of the A6, GMP said.

A spokesman said: “Police were called at around 6pm on Saturday 13 February to reports of an assault on Bramhall Lane in the Davenport area of Stockport.

“Enquiries suggest a dispute took place between the drivers of a black BMW and a red Toyota Yaris.

“The driver of the BMW – wearing dark clothing with a hood and described as a white man in his 30s, 6ft tall with a large build and long blond hair – is understood to have smashed the window of the Toyota and made off with the victim’s credit card and car keys.

“The offender then drove from the scene in his BMW towards the A6.

“The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
