Charity drive tees off again

-

A CHILDREN’S charity has announced the return of its annual golf day next month.

Seashell Trust, a charity supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional communication, based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, Greater Manchester, will host the event on Tuesday June 22.

It will mark the first live event the charity has hosted since the pandemic began.

Held at the Wilmslow Golf Club, the day has been a firm fixture in the charity’s calendar for 25 years but has been postponed from its original date in September last year.

The competition attracts more than 30 teams, who compete for the Sue Holman Memorial Trophy.

Sue was a previous chair at Seashell and loved golf, so the event is a way to celebrate all she did for the charity.

The charity say they have had a tough year financially due to the pandemic as they have had to cancel fundraising events or move them online.

Seashell head of fundraising Dominic Tinner said: “We are so grateful to be able to host fundraising events again to enable us to plug some of the gap left by cancelled fundraising and increased costs.

“We are really hoping that the local community will get behind us and take the chance to get back to some normality again by coming to our Golf Day this June.”

Teams of four are £450, including hot snacks on arrival, halfway house and a BBQ after the round.

You can also sponsor a hole from £250.
