Teenager is left badly hurt in roof fall
ATEENAGE boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling through a roof in Stockport.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Oakwood Road in Romiley at around 8pm last night after receiving ‘concern for welfare’ reports.
The boy, aged 14, had fallen through a roof of a building, police said.
The Express understands the incident happened near the Romiley Board Mill.
The teen was taken to hospital from the scene with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, a spokesperson for GMP said.
The air ambulance was called to the scene, as well as several other ambulance vehicles.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “At around 8pm yesterday evening (14 June 2021), police were called to a report of a concern for welfare on Oakwood Road, Romiley.
“Emergency services attended and found a 14 year-old boy had fallen through a roof. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
“He remains there in a stable condition.
“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for
NWAS said: “We have taken a patient to hospital from the scene.
“An ambulance, advanced paramedic, a response car and an air ambulance all attended the scene.
“We received the 999 call at 7.12pm.”
