Join charity trek challenge

-

ST Ann’s Hospice is appealing for supporters to take on Snowdon this September in the hope of hitting new fundraising peaks.

The nine-mile trek up the highest mountain in Wales will take place on Saturday, September 18, and organisers are hoping as many people as possible will join them.

Sam O’Reilly from the events team at St Ann’s said: “This is the second time we’ve run the Snowdon Challenge and we’re really excited to be running this again.

“Our supporters really do go the extra mile for the hospice and we’re hoping that businesses, colleagues, friendship groups, or fitness loving individuals will take on the challenge this September.

“Money raised from our challenges is vital to the hospice, a supporter raising £300 could fund three two-hour specialist rehabilitation sessions to help a patient maximise their mobility.

“Climbing Snowdon is a fantastic way to create lifelong memories whilst making a huge difference to St Ann’s patients.”

Those signing up to take part in the challenge will be accompanied on the day by experts from Snowdonia outdoors company, Original Outdoors, who are providing experienced mountain leaders and medics for the challenge.

Supporters will also receive a fundraising guide to help supporters raise as much as possible while having fun.

Lucy Leeming, the fundraising manager at St Ann’s has conquered

Snowdon three times.

She said: “Snowdon is such a beautiful, iconic mountain.

“The views are unbelievable and even on a cloudy day you would be surprised at how breath taking it is.

“It’s a tough old walk but 100 per cent worth the challenge.

“Taking on Snowdon for St Ann’s Hospice is such a great way to raise vital funds, getting to know your fellow walkers, supporting and encouraging each other – all whilst in such beautiful surroundings.” »»Registration for the event costs £30 and to sign up please visit www.sah.org.uk/ snowdon or for more information email events@sah.org.uk or call 0161 498 3631.
