COUNTY SUPPORTERS COOPERATIVE

- BY IAN BROWN

THE Supporters Cooperative believes that working hard to attract fresh faces into Edgeley Park on match days is important and is proud in this respect to be playing their part in building the Stockport County fan base.

Our chosen method of doing this over recent seasons has been through support of the long-established efforts of the Club to get more bums on seats inside Edgeley Park via various ticketing initiatives.

In this regard we thought that, in addition to what the Club were doing, it would make perfect sense to target Sports Clubs and Community Groups in the area, and with the Clubs enthusiastic involvement we were delighted to sponsor the Community Ticketing Initiative.

The results have been fantastically apparent on match days with the Together Stand packed with families and young children getting their first taste, in many cases, of a County match- and they are clearly returning in numbers too!

It has been interesting to observe the scene inside the stadium on match days and see the reactions of the youngsters to the atmosphere that prevails long before the County team takes to the field and throughout the match.

Much has been done by young supporters via Hatters83 to harness the enthusiasm of young County fans and channel it to best help the team on the match day.

It is working well, and we commend the discipline shown by County fans young and not so young who have played a massive part in helping get the Club back into the Football League.

For our part, our work goes on.

We will continue to work to boost the County fan base, whilst providing a vital link twixt Supporters and Club as the journey continues through the divisions in the years to come.
