The Internatio­nal Space Station has been viewable in the Strath skies once again.

But you’ll have to be a night owl or an exceptiona­lly early riser if you want to catch it passing by.

There are just over two weeks to go before Major Tim Peake comes back down to Earth.

Comrie man Duncan King has been making the most of the good weather to try to get photos of the orbitting laboratory as it glides by.

And he has good reasons for snapping the station before Tim’s mission is up - the astronaut is his brother-in law.

Tim returns on June 18 so Duncan is putting in the extra effort to get a shot of the ISS before he returns.

This week he climbed up to Melville Monument and captured a beautiful shot of it over the Shaky Village.

He told the Herald: “Unfortunat­ely, all the decent sightings are in the early hours. That one was taken at 1am and I will be heading out again tonight to try to get a better one. I have tried quite a few times but not with much success, so I was pleased to finally get a half decent one.”

Tim has been inspiring people around the world with his adventure, sharing his experience­s and amazing photograph­s from space online and via social media

He even took some time out from carrying out experiment­s to read a bedtime story from space for CBeebies viewers, which was aired on Monday.

Tim has amassed a huge following on social media, including pop stars and Royalty.

Prince Charles recently sent a letter to Tim from Clarence House via Twitter to express his gratitude.
