Police appeal after alleged rape

- Johnathon Menzies

Detectives are still investigating a report that a teenage girl was raped at T in the Park.

The 18-year-old was allegedly attacked in the campsite following a night in the Slam Tent on Thursday.

Forensic checks were carried out at the scene and a Police Scotland spokesman said:“Officers are making enquiries into a report of a rape of an 18-year-old female on Thursday evening. Our enquiries are ongoing.”

Meanwhile, police were left red-faced after cheeky internet users set up a hilarious Twitter account claiming to be the ATM that was lifted from the festival site.

The teller containing“a significant amount of cash”was taken shortly after the campsite opened on Thursday.

It is thought to have been snatched in the early hours, between 12am and 7am.

As Police Scotland continued their search, a Twitter page called T In The Park ATM was set up by pranksters.

The bio description reads:“I’m lost somewhere in Perthshire. A couple of blokes abducted me last night and stuck me in a tent.”

The mock page posted a series of funny updates calling for help.

For the opening tweet, the user said:“I’m tied up in a tent somewhere near Strathallan in Perthshire. I can hear music. Can somebody come and find me?”
