Special family day at Hydro

- Stephen Lowson

Crieff Hydro will be playing host to a fun-filled activity day for children suffering from brain tumours and their families on Saturday, September 3.

Family Days are run by the The Brain Tumour Charity to provide a fun, relaxing, and supportive experience for children with a brain tumour, their siblings and parents.

The free-to-attend days have proven to be a lifeline for families to gain support from others going through similar experiences.

Activities available on the day at the Hydro’s Action Glen include climbing, archery, bushcraft, zip wire and crafts.

Emma Percy, children and families worker with the Brain Tumour Charity, said: “Our Family Days provide the opportunity to spend time together as a family whilst meeting other families who are going through similar experiences.

“We are delighted to be holding our next Family Day in Perthshire to help provide support to children with brain tumours and their families.

“We know that receiving a brain tumour diagnosis can be a difficult and scary time and are dedicated to improving quality of life for everyone affected.

“Our Family Days provide the opportunity for families to have a fun day out together and connect with others who are going through similar experiences.”

The Perthshire Family Day is free to attend, anyone wanting to find out more can visit the charity’s website at www. thebraintumourcharity.org/ family-days .
