Tasmina rolls up her sleeves at Gathering

-

Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh MP this week thanked the organisers of the Crieff Highland Gathering for allowing her to take part in the weekend event as a volunteer Gamesmaker.

Tasmina spent Sunday afternoon alongside the large team of local volunteers, supporting the events team in the administration of the athletic and cycling races.

Tasmina told the Herald: “I’m fortunate to be able to attend many local events in my role as a Member of Parliament, but this time I wanted to be able to roll my sleeves up and get involved.

“Events like this one would simply not be able to take place if it wasn’t for the skill and dedication of the volunteer organisers and those who give up their time on the day to make sure things run smoothly.

“So I want to say a huge thanks to all the team at the Crieff Highland Gathering for giving me the opportunity to volunteer at their event today, and for all the other Gamesmakers for making the event an enormous success.

“I want to give special thanks to Norman on the organising committee for setting it all up for me and Ronnie, for showing me the ropes behind the scenes at the running and cycling events.

“This year’s Games - and the fantastic weather - were a great success and a fantastic showcase for our area! I look forward to returning again next year.”
