Gander at the treasure trove of intricate handmade gifts available at the local curiosity shop, and maybe buy that one-off lovingly crafted figurine for your nephew’s birthday, rather than that mass-produced one he probably already has five of.
And while you’re at it why not nip into to your local cafe for a spot of brunch and a good cup of tea? You deserve it.
You can also be sure that you will be greeted with a friendly smile and some chitchat which all add up to a more personal touch to your experience.
Aside from ensuring your purchases are the cream of the crop, shopping locally ensures a thriving economy for you, your hometown, and all who live there.
The local businessperson’s profession is a noble one at that, once highly admired people at the centre of our towns, why not give them some love for a change? Our artists, entrepreneurs, farmers, and more importantly, our neighbours.
