Chance to join in with pantomime

-

Having skipped a year in 2015, Comrie Drama is happy to announce that it will be bringing its ever-popular pantomime back to the White Church stage this year.

Performances of Sleeping Beauty are already scheduled for four nights, from November 30 until December 3, and a rehearsal schedule is being drawn up.

But, before the schedule can be finalised, Comrie Drama is on the lookout for budding cast members.

Auditions for Sleeping Beauty will take place from 2.30-4pm on Sunday this week in Comrie’s Parish Church Hall.

Anyone interested is asked to throw their hat into the ring for either one of the main roles or as part of the chorus.

The club has set a lower age limit of P4 this year. Any children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult throughout the audition.

A spokesperson explained:“Being in the cast of any stage show is a big commitment in terms of both time and energy. It is therefore important that a responsible adult be present in order to understand the implications before any commitment can be made.”

There are plenty of adult roles up for grabs as well, and no upper age limit applies. A variety of parts are available, both speaking and non-speaking.

The spokesperson continued:“Although an ability to sing and dance are not crucial, the ability to be silly definitely is – so bear that in mind!”

Anyone unable to make it along to the auditions can contact either Elaine Catton on 07516 118840 or Graham McWilliams on 01764 670076 to register interest before Sunday.
