Co-op Foodbank collection point

-

Organisers of Crieff’s Foodbank are delighted to announce that the town’s Co-operative has agreed to house a permanent collection point in store ... writes Caroline Murphy.

The trolley is situated at the front of the shop and is an accessible option for good-hearted locals to leave their donations of food.

Store manager Liam Higgins stated:“We are very pleased to be able to support the community in this way and provide a central collection point for the Foodbank.”

Foodbank volunteer Mary Mackinlay added: “We are delighted that the Co-op has agreed to have a permanent collection point.

“We are very grateful to everyone who donates to the Foodbank and to the Co-op for providing another means for people to give to this worthwhile project.”

A typical food parcel contains breakfast cereals, soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, tinned beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, tea or coffee, UHT milk, sugar, biscuits and snacks. To find our more about how to support the Foodbank, pop into the Crieff distribution centre, Logos Youth Project, 27b High Street.

Alternatively, visit the Perth and Kinross Foodbank website at www.perthkinross. foodbank.org.uk. The Foodbank is open on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm and Fridays from 10am to 11.30am.
