Strath’n Grove.3 Meigle Vics......2

Strathearn Grove got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Meigle Vics at Braidhaugh on Saturday.

The home side started the Division Three match on the front foot and Vics had their keeper to thank for keeping them in the game.

However, the momentum swung in favour of the visitors when they scored twice from corners as the first half wore on.

Kros Brown eventually beat the man who’d denied him three times earlier to get the Grove back into the game.

The away team were soon down to 10 men after the inform Meigle keeper verbally abused the referee.

Into the second half and following a few chances, the Grove were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box.

Up stepped Donald Crerar to make it 2-2 and mark his return to the Grove’s midfield.

Soon afterwards, Blair Johnston put a few previous missed chances behind him to score his first goal for the club.

Grove: Bell, Cramb, Welsh, Stewart, Roberts, Johnston, Crerar, Robson, Fraser, Brown, Jack. Subs: McInally.

The Grove play Vale of Atholl away in Division Three on Saturday. Kick-off 2pm.

Auchterarder Primrose won 3-0 at home to St John’s on Saturday. They are without a game this weekend.
