Trust cash on offer
Foundation Scotland has announced application details for this year’s T in the Park Community Trust Fund, set up to benefit the eight community council areas around Strathallan Castle Estate near Auchterarder.
A total of £12,500 is available this year, which a spokesperson explained is designed to solely benefit community groups and small local charities.
Interested parties can apply for grants worth between £250 and £2000 from a pot of cash donated by those behind Scotland’s largest music festival – which has taken place on Strathallan Castle Estate for the last two years.
This year the application process will be through the Express Grants programme at Foundation Scotland, operating on a rolling basis.
The fund opened on Wednesday this week and has no set deadline.
Applications will be assessed on a regular basis, with awards being made for up to a year – or until the fund has been distributed.
Following the 2015 festival, Foundation Scotland managed the distribution of £19,000 to local community groups and charities.
T in the Park festival director Geoff Ellis said: “By working with Foundation Scotland once again, there’s a fair and transparent process in place – and we look forward to seeing the positive impact the 2016 fund will have on the local community.
“We will also continue to support our chosen charities further afield, which include the CHAS Rachel House hospice, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy and Strummerville.”
Foundation Scotland has worked with DF Concerts since 2007, managing the £385,450 they contributed to the Kinross-shire Fund from the previous event site at Balado.
