Strath residents will fall silent as they honour the fallen on Sunday at remembrance services taking place at the area’s war memorials.

In Crieff, tributes will be paid to servicemen and women who bravely fought during the two world wars and in subsequent conflicts with a remembrance parade through town.

The procession, led by Morrison’s Academy Pipe Band and standard bearers, will form up at the Royal British Legion Scotland clubrooms at 10.15am and march to Crieff Parish Church for a service, which will last approximately one hour.

The parade will then reassemble and march to the town’s war memorial in Comrie Street for a short wreath-laying ceremony. Afterwards, the parade will march back to James Square for dismissal.

Meanwhile, Comrie will begin its Remembrance Sunday with a 30-minute service in Comrie Parish Church, conducted by Rev Graham McWilliams, at 10am. Comrie Pipe Band will then lead a parade to the village’s war memorial for the act of remembrance beginning at 10.50am.
