Trio of top new staff at Gleneagles

Gleneagles has signed up three new key members of staff tasked with building on the resort’s reputation.

The iconic Strathearn resort has appointed Conor O’Leary – formerly director of food and beverage at the five-star Grand Hyatt in Dubai – to the role of hotel manager.

Conor brings 20 years’experience in the field and is expected to ramp up Gleneagles’ guest offering across four dining venues and three bars.

He takes over from Alan Hill, who has been at Gleneagles for 27 years.

Warren Brown has taken up the post of Gleneagles’executive chef, following similar roles in Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Shanghai.

He will lead Gleneagles’four head chefs and kitchen teams and will work on expanding the breadth and scope of the hotel’s culinary offering, much of which is sourced locally.

Finally, Colin Farndon – previously Spa Director at Armathwait­e Hall Country House Hotel and Spa, Cumbria – has taken up the new position of Gleneagles’director of leisure.

Colin will implement a new leisure strategy, including shooting, archery, falconry, fishing, gundog training, tennis and off-road driving.

“Conor, Warren and Colin bring with them an outstandin­g range of skills and valued experience in the industry, which will help us advance our ambitious vision for enhancing the Gleneagles offering and the guest experience,”said Paul Heery, Gleneagles’general manager.
