One goal victory for Strath side against Craigie

-

Craigie .................. 0 Vale of Earn .......... 1

Craigie, too, were knocking on the door but there was no score as the referee whistled for half-time.

Following the first 45 minutes, Vale were aware that they would need to be disciplined against a good, passing side.

But the backline continued to make key tackles to thwart the opposition.

The midfield were playing their part in this contest.

And were full of energy, looking dangerous moving forward into Craigie’s half of the park.

And on the hour mark, the deadlock was broken.

Niall Cassidy whipped a free-kick into the box and there was Miller to head into the back of the net.

Craigie pushed looking for an equaliser and the Vale had keeper Scott Knox to thank for pulling off an excellent save late on in the game.

The Crieff side held out and left Perth with an excellent victory.

Special praise was offered to the backline, who put last week’s game behind them and were superbly marshalled by the experienced Cassidy.

Team: Knox, Myles, Jewell, Miller, Cassidy, Brown, Webster, Dawson, Smith, Brock and Crerar. Subs: Gunn, MacPhee, Cooper, Cramb and Gillies
