Great first year for Crieff@Christmas Poppy thanks

-

Dear Editor Crieff Primary School held a Christmas Jumper Day on December 9 which saw pupils wear festive jumpers and make donations to Crieff@ Christmas.

Donations totalled a fantastic £263.25, for which we express our grateful thanks.

Marnie Gauld had the pleasure of visiting Crieff Primary School last week to receive the school children’s generous donations.

The money was handed over by P7 pupil Scott Campbell and P1 pupil Joseph Dowes, the school’s oldest and youngest pupils, respectively.

We’d also like to thank deputy head teacher, Hannah Wallace, and all the staff of CPS for their enthusiastic participation.

In addition, grateful thanks is expressed by the committee of volunteers that is Crieff@Christmas for the tree-mendous (pun intended) support we’ve received from both local businesses and the generosity of local folk alike which has been top class all the way.

We’re all quietly content with how well this year’s lights and (top) quality trees have been received and we thank our tree suppliers and sponsors RTS Forestry and MAM for their valuable contributions.

We look forward to doing the same again next year, having learned quite a lot from our maiden year and plan to expand upon it and make it better and, wherever possible, safer.

The future for Crieff is to be a brighter town to work, rest and play – and all connected with C@C look forward to playing our part in that.

Remember, Christmas isn’t about how big the tree is, or what’s under it. It’s about who’s around it.

Merry Christmas everyone. John Gauld Crieff@Christmas Dear Editor The annual collection in aid of Poppyscotland for Muthill and the surrounding area raised £730, which is £130 more than the sum collected last year.

Thank you to all who contributed to the overall total, and to all who helped with the collection.

There was a good attendance at the war memorial on Remembrance Sunday for a service which was led by Rev Klaus Buwert and featured Andy Renwick on the pipes and Sandy Black playing the Last Post on the saxophone.

Thank you to all who came along on the day, and also to members of the Muthill Village Hall committee for providing tea and biscuits. Donald Hood On behalf of Muthill and Tullibardine Community Council
