Organisers of this year’s successful Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’Tryst have announced the winners of the event’s photography competition.

Participants in the October festival of the outdoors were invited to submit up to six of their best photographs of the event’s activities.

These were then judged by a panel and the best three were awarded Amazon gift vouchers.

The winner this year was Anne Thomson with ‘Bridge Crossing in the Light’.

The two highly-commended entrants were Kathy Buckner with ‘Summit of Cruach Ardrain’ and Raymond Leinster with ‘Hairy Coo Up and Over’.

The judges felt that these stunning pictures best encapsulated the spirit and enjoyment to be gained from taking part in the Drovers’ Tryst.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Our thanks, as ever, go to the many people who submitted photographs and to the judges for all their time and effort spent poring over the many excellent photographs submitted.

“The winners’ photographs, amongst others, will be posted on our website, www.droverstryst.com, and will also be shown during next year’s festival – which will start on Saturday, October 7.”

In addition to the outdoor fun, this year’s Tryst helped to boost the coffers of a trio of charities – Perth-based Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, Tayside Mountain Rescue and Cancer Research UK.

The feel-good factor from the event continued following the news that the majority of Tryst participants who responded to a post-event survey stated they thought it was ‘very good’ or ‘good’.

A total of 166 survey requests were dispatched by organisers. There were 60 responses and, of these, all bar one submitted either of the above responses.
