Support called for sporting accolades
Strath residents are being asked to get their nominations in for local sports people and teams for the Perth and Kinross Sports Awards.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Live Active Leisure Facebook page and at http://www.liveactive. co.uk/Events/sports-awards
The final decision will be made by a judging panel comprising award partners. The categories are: • Sports Personality of the Year- must be 18 years or and someone who has achieved considerable success in their chosen sport in 2016;
• School Team of the Year - awarded to a school team that has been successful in local, national or international schools competition during 2016, more than one team per school can be nominated;
• Club of the Year - a club which has made a significant impact to the development of their sport;
• Coach of the Year - someone committed to providing the highest standard of coaching, whether it is with individuals or teams at any participation level;
• George Mortimer Lifetime Achievement Award to reward someone who has not only shown devotion to sport in 2016 but over their lifetime; • Volunteer of the Year; • Junior Sports Personality of the Year;
• Disability Sports Person of the Year; • Event of the Year; • Official of the Year; • Team of the Year. Entries will be judged on achievements from January 1 to December 31 last year.
Forms must be submitted by January 31.
