Get in the mix and follow the X Factor hitmakers

-

Budding Strathearn pop stars have the chance to audition for the latest series of the X Factor this weekend ... writes Johnathon Menzies.

The search for a star to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, One Direction and Little Mix arrives in Perth on Saturday.

Mobile auditions will take place in the Fair City’s St John’s Centre from 10am to 5pm on February 11.

This first round of auditions is held on a first-come, first-served basis and all you need to do is turn up, wait your turn and strut your stuff.

Anyone who impresses the visiting X Factor production team could be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the show’s star judges themselves when the televised auditions take place this summer.

In addition to Saturday’s showcase, there is also another chance to impress on Sunday this week.

Open mic auditions will take place at the Twa Tams on Perth’s Scott Street from 2pm.

Singers are invited to perform a track of their choice, either with backing music or with live accompaniment.

Again, spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis but to guarantee a slot in advance you can also send your details to tamsbooking@gmail.com.

Anyone wishing to throw their hat in the ring at either audition must be aged 16 years or over by April this year.

Those under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have valid ID. Friends, family and fans of all ages are welcome to head along and support the local talent in both venues.
