£27k joy for six groups
Friends of MacRosty Park said: “A huge thank you to Crieff Coop for allowing us to be part of the Community Good Fund and to Liam, Ellen and Grant from Crieff Co-op for their continuous support.”
Crieff Juniors chairman Stuart Corbett told the Herald:“We are truly overwhelmed by the support received from the Co-op, our parents, friends and the community. This funding will go towards the costs of our annual football festival with any excess going towards the Club’s ongoing running costs such as coaching courses and equipment.”
And the money comes as the final touches are being made at the newly refurbished Scout Hall in King Street, which will have its official opening soon. Group Scout leader Jimmy Comrie said:“The group are absolutely delighted and it will allow us to purchase much needed tables for the Scout Hall and camping equipment which all of the Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts can have the use of.”
There was also delight in Auchterarder. David Homewood of Friends of Aytoun Hall said:“A good part of this money has already been spent on secure, purpose-built racking in which to store crockery and cutlery within the Aytoun Hall. Another project the money will be spent on is the provision of free wifi and super-fast broadband in the Institute and Main Hall. The remainder will be spent in the future on replacing or upgrading the Aytoun Hall’s furniture and fittings.’’
“The management committee are grateful to those Coop customers who selected Friends of Aytoun Hall as their preferred charity.
“We were also pleased to see the Guides and Ochil Tower School receiving similar sums for their respective projects.”
