Stitch in time for tapestry

- Lynn Duke

This year is the centenary year of the Scottish Women’s Institute.

To celebrate a centenary tapestry is being created, which has been on display and worked on at various locations around the county during the year.

Last Tuesday, it was on the Aytoun Hall, when local SWI members and members of the community were invited to add stitches.

The Aytoun Hall will be open again today (Thursday) and Tuesday, May 2, from 2- 4pm to offer further opportunities to anyone who would like to participate.

The Auchterarder Institute will also be 100 years old this year and will be marking the occasion in style in October.

New members and visitors to meetings are always welcome. The secretary is currently Mrs Noreen Homewood. She can be contacted on 01764 663049.
