Action packed line-up

- Lynn Duke

Organisers of Kids Week Crieff have put together a jam-packed brochure of activities for this year’s event.

Kids Week begins on July 16 with a gala in MacRosty Park and will be building on the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Organisers are also looking forward to meeting locals and visitors at this Saturday’s country market in James Square.

Kids Week chairperson Angela Baker told the Herald: “We will be selling special edition Kids Week t-shirts and visitors will also be able to pick up a fairy door.

“The best decorated fairy door will win a prize during Kids Week all will be put into the Morgan’s Wood Fairy Trail.

“We are encouraging all age groups to decorate a fairy door. We even have a man of 98 doing one, I believe.

“We want to get the whole community involved. We are also giving fairy doors to all the children’s clubs in town and asking them to decorate them to represent their club and these will be displayed in shop windows at the start of the summer holidays.

“I’ve contacted all the clubs I know about but if there are any clubs out there that I’ve missed they can get in touch.”

Kids Week events include two youth evenings for teenagers featuring mocktails and a nail bar.

Bubble football is also on the programme.

Strath residents are also invited to drop-in workshops to make flowers for the Morgan’s Wood Fairy Trail. The next is at Strathearn Community Campus from 4-4.45pm on Wednesday, June 7.
