St Fillans’ £30,000 footpath

-

Footway improvements worth £30,000 are planned for the A85 through St Fillans from next week.

The work, to almost half a kilometre of the paths in the village, will see the surface replaced, along with improvements to the bus stop waiting areas.

The scheme is expected to take up to two weeks to complete starting on Monday, June 5, with improvements being carried out between 7am and 7pm each day, with no work taking place at weekends.

The A85 will remain open through the village but temporary traffic lights will be in place for safety to protect road workers, road users and pedestrians, and a temporary footway will be put in place.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north-west representative, said: “These essential footway resurfacing works will upgrade the surface, greatly improving the safety for pedestrians and will also provide improved waiting areas at the bus stops.

“The teams will do all they can to limit the impact of these improvements and will work to complete the resurfacing as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”

Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org or on social media network Twitter by searching for ‘@trafficscotland’.
