All in a day’s trek for top team
A team of five determined Strath hill walkers had a mountainous task ahead of them when they took on the Three Peaks Challenge recently.
Julia Greenlees, Kerry and Levi Sweeney and Nicola and Maddy Watson - all from Crieff - climbed the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in aid of MS Scotland. .
The challenge is to ascend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon in under 24 hours, including the driving between each mountain.
The Crieff quintet completed the task in 22 hours and 45 minutes.
Kerry’s husband, Jeff Sweeney did all the driving which greatly contributed to the team’s time as they were able to sleep en route. The car was loaned by Arnold Clark, Perth.
The team who are all members of local running club, Strathearn Harriers, raised £1020 in aid of MS Scotland, which they said is a charity close to their hearts. They also thanked friends, family, work colleagues and clients of Sam Park Hairdressing who donated to the cause.
