Roadworks set for A9 at Blackford
Motorists in Strathearn are set for more roadworks this month as a section of the A9 looks set for maintenance work.
A section of the A9 at Blackford is scheduled to get junction maintenance works, including resurfacing the area in the central reservation and upgrading the road markings to improve road safety, next week.
The works are due to begin on Monday, August 14 and are expected to be completed over the course of three nights. Each night the works will run from 7.30pm until 6.30am.
During these roadworks, there will be lane closures and a temporary no- right turn in place throughout the overnight upgrades. Diversions will therefore be in place through the Queen Victoria Interchange north of Dunblane in the south, and at the Loaninghead Interchange in the north for motorists wishing to pass in and out of Blackford.
These restrictions will be lifted during the day.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north- east representative, said: “Safety is a top prioirty for both BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland and this scheme is part of our commitment to that.
“The improvements to this junction will help increase road safety, making it easier and much safer for motorists to make right-hand turns across the junction.
“The works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays and our teams will do all they can to complete the improvements as quickly and safely as possible.
“We encourage motorists to plan their journey in advance and allow some extra time.”
