Second counter brings boost to Crieff service

-

Abdul Qadir, proprietor of Crieff’s King Street Post Office branch, welcomed local MP Luke Graham to his shop last Friday.

Mr Qadir is currently the only provider of a post office service in the Strath capital and the parliamentarian was there to see the successful installation of a second post office counter.

Mr Graham has worked closely with Mr Qadir and the Post Office to improve the service provisions at Mr Qadir’s local grocery store.

The Ochil and South Perthshire MP said:“I am delighted to be able to assist in this process.

“This is a timely intervention by Mr Qadir and the Post Office, which will help bring more services and better access for local residents of Crieff.

“The efficiency of the service provision has seen an immediate improvement for the local residents who use the facility.”

Mr Qadir added:“I would like to thank Luke Graham MP for his help in securing a second post office counter. It was greatly needed as the shop was being affected by the increase in customer traffic for the post office.”

Mr Graham is keen to urge the Post Office to do more to support the wider Crieff community in the provision of postal services.

He added:“While the installation of the second counter in Mr Qadir’s shop is welcome, it can only be a temporary measure.

“The Post Office needs to provide a larger, long-term option for Crieff, which is more fitting for a town of its size.”
