New mast booster

More 4G coverage

- Lynn Duke

A new network mast in the Strath is bringing superfast 4G coverage to the area.

Local MP Luke Graham recently visited the site of EE’s latest installation on the Langside.

The member of parliament for Ochil and South Perthshire met with Brendan Dick, director of BT Scotland, of which EE is a part, to discuss the new superfast 4G coverage. The mast, situated between Comrie and Braco, is one of several new installations and upgrades being carried out in the area.

Mr Graham said: “I welcome this improvement in our digital infrastructure. The new mast will provide additional coverage for around 170 households and help improve connectivity across South Perthshire.

“I campa igned to improve connectivity in our constituency; I will continue to work with the major providers to deliver improvements across OSP.”

EE will continue to roll out 4G and is planning to connect to the most remote parts of the country, benefitting local residents, businesses and visitors . The emergency services will also have 4G coverage along what to date was a poorly covered road for connectivity.

Mr Dick said: “Keeping people connected is at the heart of everything we do and the power of superfast 4G EE connectivity cannot be underestimated.

“From running a business through to keeping in touch with loved ones, 4G changes how people live and work. We know that we’re making a real difference to the community in South Perthshire by providing a great network experience offering crystal clear 4G calls and seamless video streaming to local residents and businesses throughout the region.”
