Films, talks and music offered at Drovers’ Tryst
Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’ Tryst begins this weekend.
In addition to an extensive programme of walks, activities and mountain biking, the Tryst also offers a host of social events.
Kicking things off is the Drovers’ Market in James Square from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, where a variety of local businesses will be setting out their stalls. In the evening, doors open at 7pm in Strathearn Artspace for a screening of the original 1935 film, The 39 Steps.
On Monday and Wednesday, the Tower Gastro Pub will be hosting free pub music nights from 9pm till late.
And Tuesday sees a talk by Colin Liddell entitled ‘Wade’s Second Road North’ in Strathearn Artspace at 7.30pm.
Wednesday has Innerpeffray Library hosting the talk ‘Simply a Jacobite Woman? The Life Experience of Margaret, Lady Nairne’ by Nicola Cowmeadow with pre-talk wine and nibbles at 7pm, and Strathearn Community Library is the venue for a talk about Drovers at 7.30pm by local author and storyteller Jess Smith.
Also at the Campus is a film and book night on Thursday at 7pm, when the mountaineering film, 127 Hours, will be shown.
On Friday, Crieff Drama Group present ‘Wish you Were Here’, a humorous look at holidays, at 7.30pm at The Red Squirrel Café.
And a ceilidh at Strathearn Artspace, featuring Chitterybite Ceilidh Band, rounds things off on Saturday, October 14 from 7pm till 11pm.
