A BULLSEYE CHALLENGE Crieff Archery Club’s annual event is big success

Crieff Archery Club held its annual Worcester Challenge on Sunday.

The club enjoyed an excellent turnout at its new base at the Strathearn Community Campus, with 14 archers competing for the top honours.

The Worcester round is shot on a 40 centimetre face at 20 yards and the maximum score achievable is 300 points. There was also a novice round, which was shot by novice members on a 60cm face.

After the main shoot there was a knockout contest which was said to have been enjoyed by all.

The prize-giving was held at close of play and Joan Dundee, Lady Paramount for the event, presented the trophies and medals to the successful archers. Results: Overall Recurve: Emma Borrie (273 - new record);

Overall Compound: Alex Cargill (293 - new record);

Recurve Gents: 1 Alan McDougall (261), 2 Jim Clark (235);

Recurve Ladies: 1 Emma Borrie (273), 2 Dee King (185);

Junior Recurve: 1 Niall Dundee (186), 2 Thomas King (167);

Novice Recurve: 1 Dave Wesson (446), 2 Ali Inger (359), 3 Shana Young (318);

Novice Junior Recurve: 1 Shannon Ellis (374), 2 Corinne Young (304), 3 Kyle Hinks (199);

Worcester Handicap Shield: Thomas King;

Novice Handicap Novice: Dave Wesson;

Improver: Worcester - Niall Dundee; Novice - Corinne Young;

Spot Prizes: Alex Cargill, Alan McDougall, Niall Dundee, Shannon Ellis

‘ Five Arrow Max’ trophies: Alan McDougall and Alex Cargill;

54321 trophy: Steve Ellis.
