Pub’s quiz gives park equipment bid a boost

- Lynn Duke

There was no question over who would benefit from a recent fundraising effort by quizzers at Crieff ’s Meadow Inn.

Twenty-seven teams took part in a special quiz night hosted by the proprietors and staff of the Burrell Street hostelry.

They raised almost £600 towards Friends of MacRosty Park’s drive to have all-ability play equipment installed at the Strath’s flagship greenspace.

Sandra Lowe of Friends of MacRosty Park said: “Many thanks to John and Ian of the Meadow Inn, who hosted and sponsored our fundraising quiz night which was fantastically organised, arranged and run by quiz master John Annat.

“There was a fantastic turnout and £ 595.45 was raised for our all-ability play equipment.

“Friends of MacRosty Park would like to thank everyone who supported us at this event.”

Sandra added: “Our fundraising total currently stands at £65,000 and we are excited to say that early this month we will be meeting with PKC’s architect to get final advice and drawings for our project, which will enable us to get proper costings for the project and details can then be made public.

“We are humbled by the support we have received from the local community, businesses and various groups to allow this project to become a reality. With the installation of all-ability equipment in the park we will be allowing all children to play together regardless
