Muthill burst pipe repaired

- Lynn Duke

Muthill residents were without water for a few hours on Monday evening following a burst water pipe at the edge of the village.

And the burst pipe caused treacherous conditions on the road as water from the pipe flowed out on to the road and froze in the icy temperatures.

On Tuesday, a spokesman for Scottish Water told the Herald: “A team from Scottish Water attended the area yesterday afternoon to repair a burst main near the bowling green in the village.

“Th i s re p a i r w a s complicated and meant the supply for the village had to be turned off for a short time to enable the repair to be carried out.

“Once it was completed and supply restored it was discovered that airlocks were causing issues for some customers in the village.

“Scottish Water staff rectified the situation and supply was fully restored to all affected customers last night.

“We apologise and thank customers for their patience while the work was carried out.”
