-

ways.

Its members offer everything from respite support, community care services, independent living solutions and befriending to sports massage, counselling, stress management, herbal medicine and therapeutic gardening.

And now the organisation is looking for a strategic development officer and a project co- ordinator to help shape the future of community-led care in the area.

Olivia Robertson is from The Home Straight – which offers independent living solutions for older people – and is a director of the Care and Wellbeing Co-op.

She said: “We offer a community-led approach to the provision of rural care and wellbeing and work towards helping our clients find the best solutions to their care and wellbeing needs.

“The co- op also plays an important role as an advocate for reform in adult social care in Scotland and in raising awareness of the work that its members do and how they are finding innovative solutions to the provision of care and wellbeing services, which in the current climate is more vital than it ever has been.

“We currently have vacancies on the team for a strategic development officer and a project coordinator and are looking for people with a good understanding of the care sector and of the political landscape for rural community-led care to join us.

“This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative project – the only one of its kind in Scotland – which has the potential to make a real and positive difference to the lives of people in our communities.”
