Strath to go on show as hotel hosts test of fitness
part of the Great Adventure Race.
“I have always loved Perthshire - it’s where I grew up and it has been the perfect training ground for expeditions and documentaries that have taken me the world over.
“This is a new genre of adventure race, where you can explore the best that Perthshire has to offer, amidst a luxury weekend of fine food, new friends and, best of all, family.”
Afterwards the festivities continue into the evening with a champagne reception, glamorous dinner and prize-giving, with a celebratory feast made by Gleneagles’ executive chef, Simon Attridge.
For athletes who want to challenge themselves even further, there will also be an elite version of the race.
The elite version will involve a 7km canoe trail, a 25km run and a 1800 metre ascent over two mountain peaks, and a 70km cycle route chosen by Mark.
There will also be a relay event, where teams of four can take on individual legs of the competition.
Conor O’Leary, joint managing director at Gleneagles, said: “We were thrilled to launch this exciting event earlier this year, which saw us welcome participants from around the world to enjoy the very best that Scotland has to offer - from the beautiful countryside to our worldrenowned hospitality.
“The ideal mix of scenery, sport and socialising, it’s the perfect opportunity for groups of friends, corporate teams or sporting enthusiasts to escape the city, challenge themselves to get closer to nature, before dressing to the nines for an evening of glamour.
Never have I been prouder of Perthshire than for hosting this
