Party time at Rewind
Rewind Scotland, the‘80s music festival which returns to its home in Perthshire in July, has announced the headline DJs for its all-new Club Tropicana tent.
The party will get into full flow in all its neon-coloured and fancy dress glory when Rewind celebrates its 10th anniversary at Scone Palace from Friday, July 17, to Sunday, July 19.
Unfortunately, the drinks aren’t free in the new tent but Pat Sharp will be the host on the Friday, Gary Davies will take to the turntables on Saturday and Bruno Brooks will play a set on Sunday.
Organisers have described Club Tropicana as“a fun-packed mega club under a massive big top tent”.
A spokesperson said:“Expect the evening’s entertainment to feature live performances, special guests, bespoke stage set,‘80s-inspired decor, special effects and, of course, a full bar – so you can continue the party into the night!”
And there is a fantastic line-up of live performances for the rest of the festival.
Jimmy Somerville’s Big Band-Tastic Boogie is the headline act on Saturday with a show especially created for Rewind, and Wet Wet Wet closes on the Sunday.
The festival will also see performances by Billy Ocean, Bananarama, Nick Heyward, Roland Gift, Heather Small, Hue And Cry, Shalamar, The Blow Monkeys, Grandmaster Flash and John Parr, among many others.
Rewind will be opened by a unique show celebrating 50 years since the formation of one of the world’s greatest rock bands.
Queen Symphonic features a full symphony orchestra, a rock band and four soloist’s from the international productions of the musical We Will Rock You.
And new in 2020 is a brand-new street food area, and the Electro Picture Lounge, where festival-goers can chill out watching classic‘80s videos, documentaries and film footage.
